View Full Version : Is this forum over-moderated?
Threads disappear or get locked...we all support the second ammendment, but what about the first?
Catch a clue.
The Constitution defines, in general, what the Federal Government can do. The Bill of Rights, generally, defines what rights are reserved to the people and non-infringable by the government.
There is no "Bill of Rights" for the use of privately owned systems.

I agree with Bill. There are rules associated with this forum. Members agree to abide by those rules, and when they don't, their posts or threads get deleted.
The Bill of Rights limits the federal government's interference with the natural rights of citizens. It does not justify any individual's desire to circumvent the rules of a forum.

Plinky, you're just mad because your Islam-bashing party keeps getting rained on. <_<
When it comes to racism, prejudice and religious/cultural intolerance, the moderation here suits me just fine. That kind of hateful ignorance has no place here in the "Politics" forum, or anywhere else for that matter.
Speaking as one who's been banned before, and gets warned at least as often as anyone here, I think this board is very well moderated.
Keep up the good work! ;)

The islam bashing party was quite a success, the last time I`ve checked the poll in question...before it disappeared. :)

Plinky,
We have had this discussion before, on different subjects. Islam related discussion would be considered "religious" in nature, so it fits there better.
So it did not disapear, I moved it. If it was posted in the correct location it would not have been moved.
If you have further Q's about this you may pm me.

This forum and its rules are more restrictive than I care for. But that is a personal preference and if I dont like it I dont have to participate here.
The mods do a good job enforcing the rules and are probably more lenient that the owner. So any complaining about the mods is unfounded.
If the rules here do not suit you or me we can go elsewhere.

Bill and Faa seem to be nice guys, but they can be a little too sensitive sometimes.

not even close to over-moderated imo.
Holliday and I agree on that, even if we've disagreed on other stuff in the past.
There are plenty of abusive, cranky forums out there on the Internet, I don't want this to be one of them!
Respect the house rules, if you don't like them you have a party over at your house.

Right on. Those are my feelings exactly. Sometimes, a bit of "forced civility" can be a good thing. I'm a free speech advocate, but if my experience at a forum is unpleasant, I never go back a second time.
