Couldn't help but notice how it ends: "Send in the peacekeepers, quick!"

Was that supposed to be helpful in assuaging folks' concerns that someday there may be blue helmets patrolling American cities and confiscating firearms?

There's plenty of rhetorical lunacy to go around these days.

pretty good chance it is representative of the writers views.


Notice they call this a floundering democracy. If they are to stupid to know this is not now or ever a democracy how accurate will the rest of their views be?

Mother Jones has done some good journalism over the years, so it is especially regrettable that they demeaned their magazine with such a, for want of a better word, silly item. Particularly since it does have to do with an important topic, it deserved better than that facile, knee-jerk treatment.

The "facts" presented in the first twenty seconds are sufficiently out of reason to not bother with the rest of it (specifics: Violent crime going up (NOT), 30,000 gun deaths (I'll easily believe world wide, but not in the USA).
