Found this one on gunbroker:

It`s an Infallible Davis Warner pistol in .32 ACP (never heard of it before). It`s an ugly little piece isn`t it? If you come across pics of ugly handguns feel free to post them here..

Gee, Plinky, I think those guns are very cool!

Wouldn't you just love to shoot 'em, just to see what it feels like?

I guess one man's "ugly" is another man's "interesting"...

 ;)

Yeah these two make a 52 look pretty...but they are unusual, that`s for sure.

A lot of the older models weren;t built with style in mind. they're from the ear of function over fashion. That's all changed now. Pretty is waht sell things now. Forget the old models what about the current crop or more recent models of Ugg?
To me the XD's are one of the most hideous models out there. The Desert eagle, the FNH 5/7, P99s are all right up there as well.

I know I'm getting a rant from this post.

I actually think that's one of the best looking handguns around. The main reason for thinking that is it is 100% function. I don't buy guns because they are pretty or handsome...I buy for function and fit. I also love the ASP so much because if you didn't know, they're one of the rarest handguns in existence and sell for well over $4000 if they can be found. That is four THOUSAND! Not a typo. I'm going to go look for some uggies now and see what I can find.

This one reminds me of a guy getting punched in the face. (http://www.world.guns.ru/handguns/hg189-e.htm)

More to come later.

I can't get to those links at guns.ru from work (some sites are just blocked off :(). At any rate, has anyone mentioned the Liberator? These were used by the French Resistance during WWII. I believe either we or the Brittish would drop these (in crates?) for the French fighters. They are a single use pistol, and the purpose was so that they could shoot an enemy soldier and then take his weapon (from what I recall).

The Liberator (http://gungallery.euweb.cz/Pict/FP-45 Liberator.jpg)

If my facts aren't correct, let me know, but I still think its an ugly gun (although VERY good for its intended purpose).

*** after further research, I find nothing about the French resistance per se, I just recalled that from the History Channel from about a month ago... guess they didn't drop that many there, if any at all.

At any rate, it was designed as an insurgency weapon... and Wikipedia has a pretty good write up about it...

That is painfully ugly but cool at the same time with a great history.

Dad Burn It! Someone already beat me to the Liberator.

Some of the WWII Japanese pistols deserve mention on this list

The Type 14 Nambu http://www.world.guns.ru/handguns/hg114-e.htm

The Type 94 Shiki Kenju (Ugly and physically dangerous to the operator)

My local FFL Old West Gun and Loan used to have a Liberator in the display case (not for sale). Someone actaully came through and bought the ENTIRE collection in the case (about 25 feet long and 10 feet deep) to get that pistol among several other rare ones there. I was impressed.

High Points reliable ?? My first year on the streets I took one from a vehicle and a few days later we were on the range so I took it out and put a few rounds trhough it. That's just how it went too, a few at a time, in between jams that is. This model had a heel style mag release and it released itself from the gun within a few shots. Never did find that thing.

I'm assuming by your post that you are a LEO. I was unaware that if you confiscated a firearm (assuming that you legally seized it) that you were allowed to just take it to the range and shoot it. I would imagine that something like that should be locked in an evidence room or something. No offense but that sounds a tad shady to me. Could you clarify on how you were able to do this?
