I have a Savage (Stevens) 110 E in .30-06 that I want to replace the factory stock on. I have purchased a nice piece of black walnut gunstock blank (dried already). What I am wondering is where should I send the blank for turning and fitting for the action (at least to the 95% level - a person locally will finish the fit and pillar bed and glass the action for me). I am currently thinking of sending it to Richard's Microfit Gunstocks.

Richard's is an excellent choice.

There's also Boyd's Gunstocks, but I'm not sure if they'll finish a customer's blank.

Thank you - I will likely go with Richard's just wanted to see if anyone had experience with them.

Again thank you for your response.

Yep, no problem.

Richard's does full-length, mannlicher stocks for an extra $49 bucks. That's what I'm ordering for the Mauser .308 I'm building. Always liked 'em... ;)

Here's another place I just talked to, I'm gonna order my stock from them instead... Great American Gunstock Co.

Here's a pic from their site, this is what mine will look like when I'm done with it... (I hope!)

Yeah, I just hope mine turns out as nice as that one! :)

I'm getting the exact same style, but I'm not doing any checkering on it, and it'll have the sling swivel underneath, no barrel band, scnabel fore-end tip.

We'll see in another month or two, I'll post pics for sure!

Yeah, well the one I'm getting is the "standard" grade Black Walnut... just under $200 shipped.

$650! I wish!
