It is my personal opinion, not necessarily that of Perfect Union, that the BATFE is as bad or worse as the IRS used to be at abusing power never given it by the Constitution. JFPO is making another movie about the BATFE (They already stirred the pot with them over their absurd assertions that even some non-functional relics were in fact "assault weapons"), and many other things. They have been acused of making up definitions to serve their purpose and the U S Congress is in fact investigating their alleged abuse of power and denial of citizens' rights gauranteed by the Constitution.

If you want to know more about this story (I guess P.U. desires to stay at arms length on this matter which is certainly their perogative) you will have to go to www.jpfo.org (http://www.jpfo.org) for more on the subject.

I sincerely apologize for posting something of such a nature that could be misconstrued as an endorsement from P.U. or might jeopardize this great forum.

That's OK. The P.U. site, in my opinion, was never intended to be a venting site for some of us who deplore the abuse of power that some government agencies tend to do.

This forum is about firearms and related things non-political and serves it's purpose well. There are other forums where I can go to vent if I feel so inclined, so I do respect the "owners" right to select what subjects are deemed appropriate for this particular board or not.

I didn't close it. But I and some of the moderators are very tired of Chit Chat being an ANGRY area.

I myself got all worked up and was part of the problem in recent threads as well.

I don't want this board to be a contentious free for all. Any thread that gets negative will be locked down. Sometimes one of us will pull the trigger a little early, sometimes we'll let it slide. But overall, this is our TAVERN. And I don't want it to be the place where there is a fight every Saturday night and the cops show up ever other Wednesday to hit us on a noise ordinance, get my drift?

I'd prefer that the Chit Chat area be a fun area for all, and NOT to have it dominate the board.

I wouldn't have closed that thread, but someone else did, and the moderators are better contributors to the success of this board than I am, so I won't second guess them.
