Can anyone help me identify this gun? It is a very strange looking gun, and equally strange to hold. I apologize for the junky picture, it came off my cell phone.
The gun is chambered in 9mm and was made in China, and was probably purchased in the 1980's.
I don't have anymore information about it because it does not belong to me, it is one of the many many guns inside of my friends house. If anyone has a thought on what the heck this gun might be, i'd like to hear it.:)

Yeah it does look like the Walther G22, but the G22 is actually designed for an eurgonomic fit. This thing sucked to hold, since it was only about 1 1/2 feet long.
I don't think it was a homemade job, but i could be wrong of course. The one thing i am sure of is that it says Made in China on the side with Chinese letters underneath that.
I've been meaning to put this picture online for awhile, the last time I actually saw the gun was about a year and a half ago. I wish I had looked for a manufacturer or something.

Did the magazine go in the but of the pistol grip or is it that black fuzy thing just forward of the hand grip?
If it was in the pistol grip, it almost looks like those spacy guns sold around the time the movie "total recall" with arnold came out. I forget the name of them...they did make a carbine but I think it just had a sheet metal stock on it.
Lots of weird stuff came into the country in the 80's. Some good, some just plain ol weird.
If that gun is about 18 inches overall ("1 1/2 feet long"), it is probably what the feds call a short-barreled rifle, in the same class (class 3, that is) as a machine gun. If your friend does not have his form with its $200 tax stamp, I'd suggest you mention that it might be a good idea to get rid of the gun. There are exceptions to the 16 inch minimum rifle barrel, but most are antiques.

Good point. Didn't even think of that part. I must be slipping.

The magazine is the funny looking thing ahead of the hand grip, so it isn't a bullpup.
