Nope, can't offer any advice but, I'm really looking forward to your comments on it after taking it out for a "cruise".

My opinion here will likely be decried.... but it is my opinion (so take it with a grain of salt):

I wouldn't HAVE a 9mm anything. I secretly believe its real claim to fame is the Germans lost 2 World Wars with it. French police love it. Its mild enough that a kid can control it... so's the 25 auto. Yes, that's an unfair comparison. No, I have nothing but disdain for the 9mm. I FAR prefer the 38 Special or 357 Mag.

The 45 is the grandaddy of 'em all. The original ordnance test requirement was that it be able to drop an oncoming horse. It did then and will today stop a fight... with great authority.

OTOH: both the 9mm and 45acp are as common as dirt.

My youngest son is required to carry a sidearm in his line of work. His organization proscribes the use of exposed hammer semi-autos (in deference to the sheeple's inordinate fear when seeing a 1911 carried in Condition 1 - and not that it mattershere, but I believe the 1911 to be THE best combat handgun ever imagined). So, my son consulted his old man. It's a tough thing for a father to make a recommendation to a son on what handgun and cartridge should he bet his life. Needless to say, my first choice would have been a Kimber 1911. After careful consideration and evaluation, I recommended to him a .40 caliber Glock .

The 40 isn't a 45, but it packs a hell of a lot more punch than any 9mm extant. In my family I have two BILs and a recently deceased relative who are/ were retired LEOs, a son who recently graduated the local Police Academy, another son as mentioned in the first paragraph, and a nephew currently an active duty LEO. To a man, they all carry 40 caliber Glocks.

So, while the majority of my experience with semi-autos has been with the 45, I certainly have no alternative other than to respect the unanimous choice of men who daily put their lives on the line and are comfortable with the 40.

Frankly, if I couldn't have a 45... the 40 would be my choice... and in the realm of semi-autos, it isn't even a "bad" first choice.

I would think it'll be a sparkling close range choice when fired out of that new Storm.

I don't know about a cx4 but i have shot 9mm and 40 cal Highpoints rifles. I liked the 40 much better than the 9mm. But that's just me. Mike

Depends on what you are using it for. The 9mm will be cheaper for plinking compared to the 40 or 45. So if you're just punching holes in paper, I'd go with the 9mm and buy a companion berretta 92.

Personally, I love my 40's but carry a 45ACP. I have carried the 40S&W for duty and never felt under armed. I prefer the 45's ability to penetrate light car boddies though and other intermediate targets so I switched back to the 45.

I don't think you will have any regrets with your recent purchase. It has MANY very interesting built in features like the reversable bolt catch and built in retractable accessory rail in the forend. The 40 will give you greater flexability as you can load down to lighter rounds for smaller chores and up to tackle bigger "challenges". There is a reason why it is THE most popular handgun cartridge in the LE world today.
