Well I'm the type that cannot leave well enough alone.. It started out as a new Savage 10FP in .308win. I wanted to turn it into a "sniper" rifle. So here is what I did...
The stock.. The foreend channel was filled in, using JB. The wist and foreend areas were given a couple of coats of Brownell's spray grit. The exterior was given a camo job with alumahyde. The action was bedded with Devcon and skim coated with Marinetex.
The scope mount was bedded to the action, with Devcon, with a .012 shim at the rear. To give about 15moa elevation at the mount. The rings were lightly lapped and bedded with acraglass gel.
All metal (except the reciever) was coated with Alumahyde in dk park. An ext bolt handle was installed. and stock trigger was adjusted to 3lbs.
The Barrel was fire lapped using a final finsh kit.
At 200 yds it's ave. is about .3 moa.
I think I fulfilled what I wanted to do with this rifle. I still want to lap the action.. Still a little stiff
