Before running out and dropping all kind's of cash on laser's and light's think about this: Bad guy aim's at light and your right behined it (especially in the weaver two hand hold). I prefer to use a high candle watt flashlight seperate because you can hold it off to the side of you while illumenating making yourself less of a target. My second reason is if I know for a fact the bad guy is in a particular room I can toss my flashlight in and he'll be backlit and disracted making him the target. "Laser's", almost the same situation where bad guy shoot's at what he see's. My second reason is "reflection and refraction" In low light how do I know my laser is really on my target and not reflecting off something close to him? If I aim through glass my laser should refract according to physic's..... I think every edge to our benefit helps but we also need to know the con's as well as the pro's. I understand long gun's you need 2 hands and pysical conditions make the flashlight seperate impossible but understanding what happens on the otherside of that light might be beneficial to some... cheer's and keep them batteries fresh!

I think you are over stating the risks of tactical lights. They have been in use for years at this point and we have never heard of someone being shot because the BG aimed at the light. Every major law enforcement department and militaries world wide use tactical lights.
Point is if they are lit up you are going to be able to shoot them before they can return effective fire.
In a dark room, most tactical lights are very bright to the point of blinding anyway. There is also the proper use of light tactics. There is a reason most users have pressure switches rather than on/off button. They don't flip them on and leave them on. They hold a pressure switch and the light is on, as soon as they release the light is out. Enter a room, light on for your initial sweep then the light goes out as you reposition.
Lasers are only usefull if you are wearing NOD's (then you can only see them if you have NV). Visible lasers are not all that useful for aiming and most people find it distracting trying to find the laser spot. With the advent of the modern reflex style sights visible lasers are obsolete except maybe on handguns and even then its questionable.
