I am clueless . I have no knowledge of the fn fal rifles and century arms stufff is an even bigger mystery to me.

Are these any good?
What is fair pricing?
Is the chamber fluted?
Any other info is greatly appreciated as i dont even know what questions to ask.

I've a Century L1A1. It's been a great rifle, by far the best $450 I have ever spent on a rifle. But I have heard of a LOT of folks who have Century's that don't work correctly and need some gunsmithing to get them to feed or hit properly. With regards to the general specs of the FAL, the chamber is not fluted, the gas system is adjustable and may need to be adjusted for reliable operation with different loads but I have not found this to be the case. The gas system is similar to that of an AK 47 in that gas tapped from the barrel impinges on a piston which rides in a cilynder above the barrel. Century usually uses a two peice piston which is considered by most to be infreior to the one peice pistons made by DSA. The aft end of the piston rod, or operating rod in the case of a two peice design bears on the upper part of the bolt carrier, upon firing the piston or op rod pushes the bolt carrier rearward, unlocking the bolt and ejecting the empty and stripping a fresh cartridge from the mag on it's return to battery which is driven by a strong mainspring in the stock, or incorporated ionto the carrier design in the case of the folding stocked "para" models. The FAL posesses good ergonomics, mild recoil, and is easy to strip and clean in the field. It runs much cleaner than the AR type rifles due to the fact that no bore gasses are introduced into the reciever area.
Hope this is some help, for more detailed information check the FAL files. google it and you'll find it, everything you every wanted to know about the FAL.

Hey Josh....Century's stuff can go from very good to very bad! You really need to check out their stuff before you buy. They are excellent when it comes to repair or replacement.
I've seen both the best L1A1 ever and the worst from them. If you get a good shooter of any kind from them and more often than not you will, it's gonna be a good deal.
I ordered a MAS36 from them many years ago...it was supposed to be next to unissed...I got it and when I opened the box ....it looked like something that was pulled out of scrap pile. I sent it back and got a totally new one in exchange. :)
That's Century!
