Here it is, an unfired SKS M that I picked up in a trade yesterday. The previous owner changed the stock on it and misplaced the handgaurd, so that is all I got.

That's real nice, Blender. Now I see why you wanted to trade a Mk II for it! ;)

I like wood stocks, and that has a nice grain to it.

Will a standard SKS upper handguard fit on it? Perhaps trade that one with one on your other SKS's?

Just a thought...

It is a standard SKS handgaurd, but neither of my other 2 come close to matching it. This one will stay there until I can find a suitable replacement. Thanks for the compliment.

Blender, just another thought...

The handguard on it now, is it plastic or painted wood?

If it's wood, maybe removing the paint would reveal matching wood grain?

It's neither... it's the handgaurd off of a Chinese fiberglass stock. He had painted the stock and handgaurd OD green, but I have already begun to change that.

More so since the pistol only wound up costing me... nothing! I gave him the pistol and $50.

That looks just like the "M" model that I was looking at not too long ago.

Makes me want to go get one again!

I took it to the range today, and there was a guy with a Polish underfolder AK47. He shot my M, and I think he liked it better. He paid over $600 for that AK, too.

Alright, I updated the pics again. Note I changed the handgaurd on the thumbhole stock to one of TAPCO's ventilated steel ones. I like that
