Just so ya'll know:

I recently purchased a Williams Aperature sight for my AK-47 from CTD for $19.97 (also available at Natchez for the same price).

Lo and Behold, it also fits nicely on SKS's and Mausers, and maybe Nagants or many other rifles with military ramp/ladder type sights.

The AK one seems to be the same sight as the one sold for the SKS and the M-96. Same package, has those guns listed on it with a check-mark on the "AK-47" box. Has the directions on the back for all three rifles.

Mine came with a roll pin that was used on my AK, but the Mauser didn't require it, I used the original pin and the sight snapped on under it.

If you don't like the open sights on your military rifles and don't want to drill & tap the reciever or do any permanent modifications, this alternative can always be returned to original condition.

With my eyes, this sight really helps!

I love mine too boogy. I was suprised at the accuracy it could deliver with the short sight radius. I was seriously considering one of those new styles that mounts the rear sight on the back of the dust cover.
For now I'm satisfied with this one.

Yeah, I'm suprised more people haven't posted about this sight, could it be that unkown?

Who makes the dust-cover type and where can you buy one?

Only seen them in Shotgun news. Haven't tried one yet but the longer sight radius looked good. Can't be that bad, right?

Well, it would depend on the tightness of your dust-cover. It won't be rock-solid.

I was thinking of one for an SKS, the receiver-cover is a bit tighter and more solid. I don't trust those SKS receiver scope mounts, but an aperature sight may be OK.

Williams is just down the road from me, I have bought quite a few guns from their store:beer: and I have a similar sight by them on my 54 cal. Thompson center, but it has windage and elevation adjustments

This is windage and elevation adjustable too.

I want one like you have for my CVA Hawken, Breech.

Is the Williams sight for the AK 47 plastic or metal?

It's metal. I dunno if it's milled or stamped though, or what kind of metal. It seems to be anodized aluminum.

Tech-sight. look for the link on the sks board in kiwigunner's post. Sorry I can't remember who put it there.
