Hi, I just aquired my M-1A. I am busy attempting to get it to put it in ventage condition. My primary problem is to change the Baynoet lug on the bottom of the Flash Suppressor, so the baynoet can be attached. I have a 1911A1 in the OD Green, which I fire at the range. Last year I got an M-1 Garand. My first weapon that I started to collect was the M-1 Carbine. I think this about does it for the WWI & WWII period firearms that I would like. Is this Over kill of what?

Great! I got my 1911 about two years ago. It's in the OD Green, and it shoots wonderful. I haven't had my M-1A out yet; waiting for the weather to warm a bit.

Nice weapons; I did notice the larger baynoet lug; did yours come with it? My M-1A itn't equiped to take the bayonet, and I would like to get it to period specs. Do I need to change the Flash Suppressor? Thanks for your time.

Yeah if you want a bayo lug you have to change out the whole FS. If your going to change them out you might as well put on a National Match reamed FS since it helps with accuracey. I got mine from Fulton-armory but look around if you want the best price.

You will also need to get yourself a pair of FS plyers so you can remove the castle nut that holds it on. Get GI ones because the commercial ones suck. or better yet if you have a friend with some borrow them hehe. You will have to move over your front sight and castle nut with the new FS unless you wanna buy new ones. $$$

I bought my FS with B lug from Brownells. It was made by Springfield. Only difference I can tell from a military FS is the diameter of the muzzle. Commercial is much larger. Also, when changing them out, don't overlook the tiny set screw which has to be removed first.
