Nice weapon BOOGYMAN.
I have a WASR-10 as well. I must admit mine has yet to be fired as well. I paid the same for mine as you did for yours. PTP.
Same deal, Very Good!
Good Shooting!

Well, it's not a "never-fired" gun anymore.
Took it out yesterday and shot up the pond. The goal is to see how many geysers you can get going at once. Got the new paint smokin'!
Ladybug fired it and now she wants one!
Ya, the PTP deals are the best!
Glad you took it out and broke it in yesterday. I need to do that with mine!
Once you let the Lady shoot your gun(s), she will ALWAYS want some for herself. That is the way my Wife is. Gotta love em!
Good Shooting!
You gotta love WASRs for the price and the WOOD! That wood is AMAZING on those things. Id slap a peice of stain on that badboy and high gloss that SOB to the MOON. The ONLY thing keeping me from a wasr is the dimples. I have an SAR1 and its awsome, has the demples and Ive refinished the stock. I want another one but cant find any SAR1s, just WASRs. How are the wasr ones really? shoot good? Give us a range report guys, You might talk me into getting one.

I had a SAR-1, and like a fuggin' tool, I sold it. :(
I think I will just get the Joken Romanian AK that they have for $399...the reciever has the dimples and the wood on it looks decient.
I was thinking about building a few of these but I'm not so sure if it would be worth the time and money if I just built a few, so I dont know. I've read bad reviews on the Joekens, although I have never personally delt with him.

The new Ewbanks Gen II receivers that they now use are supposed to be pretty good. I think I will take a chance on them when I get the money to spend.

That's the first thing I did was refinish the wood, Chuck! Even before I fired it.
After sanding to 400 grit, I stained it with Minwax Dark Walnut and soaked in 6 coats of satin Formbey's Tung Oil. It just glows!
No dimples, but there are plates welded inside the mag well instead. The mag is a little loose, not too bad. Maybe somebody has an easy fix for this?
When I field-stripped it, I noticed the gas-piston rod was slight canted, it was easy to straighten.
I put a Williams aperature sight on it, $19.95 at CTD.
So far I fired 60 rounds, 40 as fast as I could pull the trigger. No malfunctions or misfires.
Just waiting on my 2000-rnd ammo order!
Yeah I beleive the plates that are there were accually thicker at one time to accept only single stack mags for the ban. Now that its off they grinded them down wide enough for a double stack to fit in there. Possibly they just ground just a hair too much off on yours so its slightly wobbly. I wouldn't worry about it one bit as long as it functions. So far as a fix for it... I dont know, check out the ak forum.
Chuck.... I like it!

Funny about the mag looseness... I ordered 6 mags from SPG and everyone of those fits nice and tight. They're supposed to be German surplus.
The one that came with the gun is the only loose one.
Think I'll get some more of those German ones while they last...

Here's a picture of mine. I bought it during the AWB, so I couldn't get one with the "evil features". I'm happy with it. I sanded the stock and foregrip, then applied 5 or 6 coats of Formby's High Gloss Tung Oil Finish. It's not a showpiece, but I'm happy with how it looks, and the thing is tough as nails! I love my WASR 10!

Real nice WASR! :D
Good job on the stock. Doncha love that Formby's Tung Oil?
Is your barrel nut welded on? If so, can you file off the bead and check for threads underneath?

Thanks, Boogy. Yeah, Formby's makes a great product. I'll have to check that barrel nut!:D

Remember, it's LEFT-hand thread, in case ya didn't already know that.
I didn't when I took mine off, and almost messed it up!
