Today was the first day in almost TWO WEEKS that the rain let up enough for me to go to the range!
It has been raining like MAD here in Southern Oregon for quite some time. Inches per day, non stop.
Well, the SUN poked out today so I packed up my gear and rushed to the range before it started pouring again!
I fired 100 rounds out of my 'new' Yugoslavian SKS, and I must say I am IMPRESSED!
Other than four jams (I think it was due to those 4 particular cartridges), the rifle functioned flawlessly.
It seems quite accurate too. Resting on the bench, I was able to put 20 rounds into one big hole. It was only 50 feet, but that is better than I can do with my MINI-14 Ranch.
$149 Well Spent!
(as an aside, the ammo I was using was WOLF. The four cartridges that jammed were fired, but not extracted. I had to use the concrete bench to force open the bolt. On those four cartridges, the primer had a good strike, but had been PUSHED deeper into the case. I thought this was odd, as none of the other cases had that happen. Those four cases must have had overly deep primer pockets.)
Good Shooting!
