Nice!
Reminds me of my Collectors Grade I got through the CMP. It was very dark, but in great shape.
I had to sell it, I lost my job in 2001 and came within 30 days of missing a mortgage payment. I ended up selling it through Scott Duff for a lot of money. I wouldn't normally try and profit from the CMP, but that rifle was worth a lot more than my Service Grade, which I liked better!
Now you need to get up here to Oregon on June 30 to shoot in the 200-300 stock Garand match. $20 gets you in including ammo. Might win a trinket or two. Most likely not worth your airline /motel bill to get here though!
Nice M1!
I sold my HK USP45 back in 1999 to fund purchase of firearms that were going to be banned, so I know what it's like.

Here's my new'er M1 Garand.
Springfield Armory, serial number 7629xx.
It was a CMP "rack grade" issue that was sent to Fulton Armory for a complete refinish, a rebarrel to .308, and was fitted for outstanding CMP furniture.
With a serial number like 762xxx it should only be a 7.62 rifle......:)

Beautiful!
I should really send my M1 to Fulton...

Thanks Bill,
The pictures do Fulton very little justice.
I nearly soiled myself when I picked it up at my FFL.
This one is just a shooter and a looker, no collectable value.
Many parts are for later M1's. Bolt, trigger, and op rod are all Springfield GI. Most all the other small parts are new production.
