View Full Version : ROMANIAN WASR-10
Hi all,
I know you all know what a WASR-10 looks like, but I thought I would share a couple of pictures anyway.
I've had this one for a few months now, and am just getting around to taking some beauty shots of it.
This is one of the nicest ones I have seen. I could not pass this one up!

Nice looking pieces!
I thought an identifying trait of being Romanian was having a forward pistol grip in the lower handguard?
I'm by no means even remotely up on these, that's just the heresay I've heard ... Is my info wrong?

I have not seen any Romanian with an original forward grip.
Take a look at this site:
http://www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/model.htm
It shows all of the Romanian models. None of them have the forward grip.
Thanks for the compliments guys!
Good Shooting!
(WHOO HOO! THIS IS MY FOUR HUNDREDTH POST ON PERFECT UNION!)

That sight has a lot of good info NWO ... It really makes me doubt that the AK parts kit I got is really Romanian like they said it was. Here's where I got it from a while back, they've gone up a good bit since I got mine:

You can bet if it came from Scott (DPH) it is what it says. The One you have is likeley the one I ordered as well. These are the Romanian Gaurd rifles. (Does yours have the big orage G on the aft side? Did it have the black band painted around the buttstock? Those are Gaurd rifles that have seen little to zero use. Both of mine were the ones he has at 109.00 now and they were in perfect condition, Zero wear, they hadnt even be drilled with yet, and the barrel had the original brown paper in the barrel. These kits are awesome!! Chrome lined barrel plus pristine condition with all matching number parts = Brand new gun when the reciever gets put on. I have done one allready and it is shooting awesome. I just wish this ammo shortage would go away so I can work it out.

SS, mine is just like yours, I got one of the $89 ones back around Thanksgiving. Brown paper in the barrel and the G on the side. I can't for the life of me get the rivets out of the rear trunnion. I drilled it out with an 1/8" bit and tried to hammer them out with a punch but they won't budge. I then tried pressing them out with my shop press. This only resulted in getting the punch stuck in the hole ... lol.

NWO... ya got "good wood" dude!
Yours looks like solid wood, mine was laminated. Still came out nice after refinishing, really unique.
What did you finish it with, or did it come that way?

Boogyman;
Thanks for the compliment. Good Wood is a wonderful thing!
My stocks are solid wood, not laminate.
I did not refinish the stocks, I got the weapon that way.
