Hello all,
I just thought I would share my latest find with you.
It is a Yugoslavian SKS.
For Christmas, My Wife got me a Pristine RUSSIAN SKS. Perhaps some of your have seen the pictures of it. I still have not decided if I want to sully it up by shooting it, since it is in mint condition.
I purchased the YUGO today so that I can have an SKS that I can shoot the SHIZZLE out of while I am deciding whether or not to shoot the Russian one from my Wife.
My YUGO came complete with a nice, thick coating of cosmoline. What a gooey mess that was.

It only took me about two hours to clean it up though. Some paint thinner, a tooth brush, lots of rags, and a can or two of brake cleaner was all it took. I am sure I did not get every last bit of cosmoline off the gun, but I got most of it. It is in shootable condition now, and tomorrow I am taking it out to the range to put some lead through it! I can hardly wait!

I got an interesting surprise when I opened up the box.
On the right side of the buttstock there is a very old sticker/picture of Jesus. I thought that was really odd, but I assume some Yugoslavian soldier put it on there many years ago. I am not going to remove it. I rather like it. I think it gives the rifle some character. What do you all think?

Now I have two SKSs. One Russian, and one Yugoslavian.
The YUGO seems every bit as good of quality as the Russian.
Just thought I would share.
Good Shooting!
