She will be a shooter. You should have a good time at the range :D The hard thing is going to be deciding if you ever want to do anything to it. When it comes straight outa the box and tries to put um all in one hole, makes it tuff to want to change anything!
adaman04. Nice Savage. I never see many folk's talk about them over here. I've got a few of the Simmon's 44 MAG scopes also. There mounted on 223 and smaller calibers, no complaints and they've held up very well. Natchez has a pretty good price on them of late.

Thanks guys. I went to the range for the first time today and got it kind of roughed in to zero, but not close. Shot at 25 yards and started to shoot at 100, but it got too dark. There is always tomorrow I guess.

Sweet, look forward to seeing the pics from the range. A local farmer said he had some land outside of town that was crawling with plenty of coyotes...and 2 bobcats. :o I need to get her sighted in good at 100 and it will be on. Predators beware.
Hey that`s a pretty cool rifle. Can`t do anything wrong with a Savage.

Guess I've been doing too much playing and not enough pic posting. Here's some pics I have been messing with lately. Not my best work, but more to come. :D

Adaman, how's the weight on that? I have been thinking of changing my barrel out on mine to a bull barrel, but I was also thinking of taking it hunting and was wondering if it would wear me out lugging that around.

It will ad several pounds to your rifle. My bull barrel weighed probly around 5 lbs alone. I am not a small guy and I wouldnt want to be draging it around with me all day.

Adaman I have two 44 mag scopes but I have never used them in wet conditions and I'm curious if they'll fog up. Have you hunted in the rain with any of your 44 mags?
Here's a pic of my fp. These things are great! .3moa at 200yds

Sorry guys I almost forgot about this post.
The rifle weight isn't an issue for me as far as hunting. I just took it hunting on a hunt last Saturday. I have a Butler Creek neoprene sling and it takes a lot of the weight off.
I have had no issues with my 44 Mags in bad weather. They have been great scopes all around.
Brianc, what stock is that on that your rifle?
Believe it or not... factory! heavily modified!!! I'll see if I can't get my stuff together this weekend and list all the things I have done to this rifle... It's sweet
I have one too and I wouldn't want to carry it around on a hunt. I have a CZ527 in .223 for carrying. Now that's a sweet little rifle. I love the Savage for sitting and hunting ground squirrels. A VERY accurate rifle.
BTW, I just mounted a Bell and Carlson stock and put a Riflebasix trigger in it. Just to "personalize" it.
