BOTH LORD AND CHRIST

Acts 2:36
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.”

Every great work must have authenticity and a permanent foundation. Jesus, the very cornerstone of the redemptive work of God had risen from the dead and ascended unto the Father fifty days earlier.

Peter quickly established the identity and deity of Christ at the day of Pentecost. His message was to those of the House of Israel that were present on that day, and essentially to us.

Jesus had come as the great Messiah. He was the deliverer and Redeemer of the house of Israel. His death and resurrection had been predicted since Adam. Now as prophesied, the Holy Spirit had certified the scriptures, demonstrating the anointing of God's power, as He had promised.

Peter declared Him to be both Lord and Christ. "Lord" means to have supreme power and complete control of it. "Christ" means Messiah, the Redeemer, deliverer sent from God. His name and messianic work are referenced in over 500 scriptures.

He came to establish the Kingdom of God on earth, to set his people free from the bondage of sin and death. He came to buy them back from the destroyer, Satan.

He purchased us with his blood spilled through his crucifixion. His resurrection proved his power over death, judgment and destruction. He restored us with new life, setting us free from ultimate damnation.

He is both Lord and Christ, the ruling Redeemer, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He has purchased us at great cost. Surely he is worthy of our loyalty and service.

Let us, be careful to submit to his lordship with hearts of thanksgiving and praise. He has destroyed death and established eternal life for those who believe in him.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus to redeem me, placing me firmly in your kingdom. I appreciate my new life so very much. Sometimes I forget that you are Lord, and I try to run my life without your guidance. Please forgive me. I want to always submit to you as Lord and acknowledge you as Messiah. I pray in Jesus Christ's Name. Amen.

Very good Sword, we should never forget but there are those that choose not to.
Always take Him with you where ever you go and meditate and pray, the living word of God.

Submit.... that's the hard part. My pride and ego keeps getting in the way, but because of His Grace and Mercy I can find forgiveness, then peace and joy.

Excellent sermonette, brother Sword. I believe you have donned the robes of a shepherd. ;)
