JESUS MANIFESTED
John 14:21-22
21 "He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him."
There is an old saying "If you talk the talk you better walk the walk."
Many Christians wonder why they do not feel the closeness that they desire with the Lord. There seems to be no great sin in their life. They read the Bible, pray on occasion, and attend church.
Yet, there is no awareness of the presence of the Lord in their daily life.
It takes more than going through the motions of Christianity to experience sweet fellowship with our Lord and Almighty God.
The above Scripture makes this very plain. We must not only have and to know the commandments of God, we must also keep them. Thats why it is so very important to understand the mystery of Law v.s. Grace, and to understand the words of Christ when he said, "think not I come to destroy the law....but to fulfill". The very deffinition of sin is found in 1st John chapter 3, verse four.
"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."
We establish, show and prove our love for God by our daily actions, by doing His Will. If we live by his commandments, we show love to the Father, and to our Lord Jesus Christ. We have become a loyal disciple who is faithful in Christian commitment. This is a crucial time. In the aftermath of God's small display of awsome power, many will awaken to the depravity our nation's people have allowed to occure. Now is also a crucial time to awaken others who see the evidence of something wrong in this country, but are going to the anti-Christs to help them connect the dots.
Jesus then shows his love for us, and reveals himself in a more intimate way. He discloses the great dimension of his power and grace to all who remember the commandments of the Father and do them.
Seek to be an obedient servant, and your life will be enriched with close fellowship in Jesus your Lord, and Redeemer.
Prayer:
Almighty God, I hunger for a deeper relationship with my Lord. Sometimes I talk a good Christian testimony, but I must confess; I do not always keep your commandments. Forgive me for my shortcoming obedience and failures. I pledged to try to walk a more consistent life in Christ Jesus, my Redeemer I pray in his name. Amen.
