I purchased a ProMag steel 30 back in August.
Very impressed with the design and quality.
As I loaded the mag, the first 10 went in fine, then each round after that was getting stuck on insertion.

Called ProMag, told to return it.

Shipped it Priority Mail to ProMag.
Just over 4 weeks later (today) I received my replacement magazine.

It loaded just fine.

I took it out back and ran 120 rounds through it. Not a hitch. Loaded fine each time, and emptied perfectly, too.

I really hope these ProMag steel 30's work-out. They appear almost identical to my Ruger Factory 30's.

If any of you all test them, please post your results.

Glad they honor the warentee. I have so many mags already. Most are PMI's I bought during the ban. Otherwise I'd try some.

I'm curious about the quality of the metal. Do the Promags seem to be wearing faster than Ruger factory; especially around the magazine catch hole, locking rear lug, and feed-lips? Thanks!

I'll have to do more range testing to see how wear occurrs.

I did grab my micrometer and mic'ed them both:
ProMag steel thickness is .279"
Ruger factory steel thickness is .284"

Yer welcome!

Put another 100 rounds or so through the steel ProMag 30 today.
Fed and functioned perfectly.

After 220 rounds and no significant sign of wear, I'd say that's a magazine you can bet your life on. If you or others can achieve the same results with other Promag 30 steel magazines, I'd also say that we now have a reasonable alternative to the Ruger factory mag for extremely anti-social situations.
