Oh ny the way I found some PMI 40 rd'ers at http://www.deltaforce.com/catalog/riflemagazines.html
I can't have any of these "evil" things out here in Corruptfornia, but
I thought maybe someone might be interested.

 These are just 1-40rd and 1-30 rd mag welded together.Personally I would'nt trust them in a combat or "life"situation.I don't even trust the 40's as the spring is so long and can lose strength over time. These super high caps are for the guy that needs that big block that puts out 500 hp @ 3 mi/ gallon to impress the guys/girls in the walmart parking lot.......looks cool but does'nt make much sense, and has very little useful purpose. Now if somebody would make a steel drum magazine for the mini like the one for the ar-15-that would feed correctly-that might change my opinion. <_< :sniper:

That must be one long, flimsy spring.

extra extra capacity? <_<

I just tested the two thermold (the real ones) 30/45rd mags yesterday, supposely they are the only reliable hi-caps for my mini-30.....Guess what, they jammed every other shot if the bottom is extended out (so the max will hold 45rd). On the other hand, when the buttom is pushed in (28-30rd max), they are all reliable. :D Guess the extra cap thing is just not meant to be reliable? <_<
keep it 30 max and be happy ;)

Wow!

Looks like something the A-Team would make when they were locked in a room with welding and metal cutting equipment (happened every episode). Mr. T must have needed the extra firepower to take on the NVA or the Mexican Army! :rapid:

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head. One shot, one kill.

I bought some 50 round Galil mags and an IMI mag coupler years ago. So I would have 100 rounds at the ready. Oh, and 1 round in the chamber.

I was exploring the Outer Limits of high capacity cartridge feeding devices.

I was shooting a .223 Galil ARM.

Only problem was, the mags were too long to be used with the bipod and I couldn't keep the rifle shouldered due to the weight.

Some ideas sound better than they turn out to be in actual practice. LOL! :D

Anyway, with my Mini-14, I find that 30 rounds (or 35 with my Eagles) are about right for me. And in any situation, including civil unrest.

When I look to the military, I see that our guys are issued 30 round mags and they have select fire weapons. I think that's a pretty good indication of what works well. Tested and proven over decades.

As far as novelty and the 'if it's made, I gotta have it' syndrome? Hey, why not? ;)
