Try to stay away from ones with the thin catch.

Look on the backside of a factory ruger mag and it should have the littkle catch thing stick out quite a bit.

Bad magazines just have a little peice of sheet metal welded there, so they dont fit as snugly.

If your looking for some magazines i got a private offer earlier that i declined for 4 polymer mags for 80$ shipped to the 48 states. i still have his email if you want me to ask.

I'm no longer selling Eagle mags, but I'm impressed with thier clear Mini-14 mags. They are very good mags for the price and Eagle has a NO BS life time warranty.
Are they as good a factory mag. Well no, but they aren't near as expensive either.

You should be able to find them for less than $15.00ea.

My preferences:

Ruger factory mags steel 20's and 30's
Thermold (old stock: pre-ban) polymer 30's
Masen steel 30's
ProMag polymer 30's
ProMag steel 20's
Eagle new production polymer 30's

"Bad magazines just have a little peice of sheet metal welded there, so they dont fit as snugly."

Actually---that's an indication of a good 30-rounder-----Ruger Factory---PMI----and the new Pro mags are ALL made that way-----this is talking 30-rounders only.

The ruger factory 5 rnds have a very thick lip

Not saying tho others dont work, but they dont seem to fit as well.

i took a gamble on a Trippel K stainless 30 rounder, and i thought that this brand was the bottom of the barrel in quality. but the magazine actually works great i shot over 200 rounds yesterday and had only 1 jam.

PS: to tell the truth i only load up 20 rounds at a time (relates to the fact that theres only 20 rounds in each ammo package) so that might be the answer to my suprizingly good reliabillity.
