Very nice - does that kick - and what is the accuracy at 100 yards. LOL - think my 17 hummer ammo is cheaper.... ;)

Supposedly its got 19 Ft/Lbs of recoil... I dunno what that means to anyone shoulder... but I can put it this way...
a 12 gauge with a 3.5" slug or a turkey load, will kick and HURT...
this *DOES NOT HURT*... it shoves... its like being pushed by the rifle, instead of some big burly biker punching you in the shoulder wearing brass knucks...the rifle weighs in at well over 40 lbs with the optics...so that plus the brake is a big recoil reducer.
you can honestly shoot this rifle all day long, one round after another and ENJOY IT... the only reason I wouldnt is the barrel would start to get "pretty warm" after 10 rounds or so of that... :)
I paid $162.00 for 150 rounds of ammo...plus shipping... so do the math.. it came out to be something like a $1.15 or thereabouts... not too bad for cost...
As far as accuracy... I was shooting sub 1" groups today with 3 rounds... and can post some images of other tagets I have shot at with it, and scanned, if youd like to see the actual holes in the paper...
any other questions, please ask!
HOLY COW!
Looks like you took that barrel off of a tank!
Awesome Rifle!

I like that a lot better than most .50's. That wood stock makes it a beaut. Awesome rifle.

Just to keep yall up with new updates about my Rifle...
LAST NIGHT...
I installed a NEW TRIGGER!!!
I put in a Timney Trigger in this bad boy... Took the HORRIBLE trigger pull from "stupid poundage", down to a more manageable 1.5 lbs of trigger pull!!!
Talk about SWEET!!!!
This has given my .50 a NEW lease on life, and CERTAINLY makes it FAR more easy to shoot!!!
When lining up the crosshairs... instead of having to SQUEEZE and hope you can hold it still... I just have to touch the trigger and think about it going off... and with ever so little effort... ***BOOOM***
The Timney I bought fits any 98 mauser action, and required just a tiny bit of stock removal under the rear end of the trigger mechanism. It fits and functions flawlessly... least so far with 5 rounds thru it today it did!! hehehe
I was at the range, sighting in on very small rocks... **BOOM** dustcloud!!!!
Ya GOTTA LOVE IT!!!!!
I was also asked how much a setup like mine costs... So I broke it down... I can almost give you the EXACT total...
Rifle, with bipod, and a cheap case ( like you get at bass pro) $1700.00
Shipping on Rifle $25.00
FFL X-fer $10.00
That specific optic... a Barska ( AKA Guide gear) 10x-40x X 50 MM illuminated mil dot reticle, side focus... $300.00 ( thats the going price...Although I got mine on sale one time for $259.99 + shipping)
New case ( 60" Inside length - "TZ" case at sportsmans guide including shipping) $110.00
Timney Trigger ( fits any 98 mauser without safety) $35.00
Ammo... ( sportsmans guide deal... 150 rounds) $160.00 ( I got free shipping as aI renewed my membership!)
Lee reloading press for .50 BMG plus .50 BMG die set and all extras to do other shells too.. $140.00 ( includes shipping)
so lets total it all up...
$1700.00
$0025.00
$0010.00
$0300.00
$0110.00
$0035.00
$0160.00
$0140.00
-----------
$2480.00
So... for less than $2500, you can have a complete setup... EVERYTHING... not JUST a rifle... or just this and that... but everything you need for the .50 bmg...
and of course, you can buy it a little here and a little there, so its not like you are out the whole chunk all at once... those exact rifles are selling right now on Gunbroker for $1640.00 but they DO NOT Come with the cheap bipod and case... NO BIG loss... my NEXT purchase for this will be a GOOD bipod...
Still gotta love the .50 BMG... Certainly one of MY personal favorites!!!!

That`s cool! Never thought, you could get a .50 for under 5 grand.
I have downloaded a clip a while ago, where one of our snipers was shooting insurgents in Iraq from a .50 Barrett. The targets were really far away, even zoomed in...but you could see meat flying in all directions...gross. These rifles are monsters.

Indy-
You really got me thinking. If I work a ridiculous amount of O.T., I might be able to get a similar set-up. And the timney trigger just tops it off!! Did vulcan mention that it would work on their rifle, or did you just figure it out yourself? If it was your thinking, then kudos to you!!!!

Vulcan states that their trigger is a standard 98 mauser trigger and that "any aftermarket trigger for a 98 mauser will work to replace it"... So... its their statement. Mind you, that has voided the warrantee, by me doing that. I also had to remove a TEENSY little bit under the rearmost portion of the trigger in the stock to get it to seat flush...
What really cranks me up... is this rifle STARTS with a HORRID trigger pull... like over 10 pounds, and nasty...
For a MERE FREAKIN $30.00 they could PUT A TIMNEY ADJUSABLE TRIGGER IN THERE !!!!!!
What the HECK Are they DOING?!?!?!? or WHY ARENT THEY DOING IT?!?!?!? All they have to do is POP it in, and charge ya an extra $50.00... Jeezus... its not like your going to blink over the Difference of $1640.00 ( Retail NOW... yeah, I know I paid $1700, but I got the case and cheapo bipod...) and $1700.00 WITH a good trigger... ya know what I mean?!?!?! Hell MOST shooters I know would MUCH rather pay an extra $50.00 for an adjustable trigger pull from 1.5 lbs to 4 lbs!!!
Maybe its the safety thing... I dunno... lack of a safety, they want a HARD pull so no oopsies... and those that know how to handle a 1.5 lb pull will most likely not be the ones having oopsies?!?!?
Although...I dunno... I think *ANY* oopsie with a .50 BMG is going to be a BIG oopsie!!! LOL
Still... this trigger makes a so so shooting rifle a *SWEET* shooting Rifle!!!!!
