View Full Version : Who won Serries 1?
Hey Cajungeo where are ya? Must be busy and covered up. I just realised it's July and time to start a new serries and start on some different targets. I think 2rangers rocked everyones world with his barrel tensioning device. I've been thinking we may have to think about a new catagory for target contests. One for full legnth barrel mods. Probably should include aftermarket replacement bull barrels and full legnth barrel sleeves/tennsioners/stiffeners ect. Those of us who won't/can't afford or otherwise procure something like this can't realy compete with our factory guns. Maybe call it an open class. Those who can afford something like the Biathlon, Accu-Strut, and varrious tuners or simular devices that don't cover full barrel legnth would be able to compete against themselfs. Anyone else have ideas on this? How about you Caj? 2rangers has shown us what will be ultimately "the #1" mod for a Mini14. Never ever did I think I'd see a Mini shoot like that consistantly without rebarreling. Congradulations again 2rangers for showing us the way and moreover for shareing so openly exactly how to do it ourselves!!!!! My hats off to ya cat!!!!
sounds kinda like a good idea, open class, limited mod, and stock! maybe even a long shot contest, 200 or 300 yds?
who can hit 5 shots on a paper plate size target! ;)

Hey bro- thanks for the good words!! You aren't the only one amazed at the performance. You should see, I now take care of it like it was a really expensive bench gun or something!! I like your idea of opening up the class some. There should be some differentiation between stock, modded, and full-out bull barrelled, totally tricked monsters.
Tri- I really like your idea about opening the ranges some. I have shot my mini out to 300 yds, and so far I have been getting groups from 2.21"-4.66", if I do my part. Interestingly enough, the flat base 60grn v-max is still the most accurate, so far. I would have thought some of the boat tail bullets would have done better. :sniper:
Hey 2rangers if mine was shooting like that I'd treat it like one of those Hi-Power bench rest guns too. Just wondering about the V-Max 60gr. Is it a true flat base? Or is it a Spitzer, just the hint of a bevel around the base edge. The reason I ask is that mine realy likes the Nosler 50gr. Spitzer. When I first looked at them I thought they were flat base, not. Now that summer is here and the Fourth is over, company is all gone, mostly, I may get back to the things I like to do. Like load up some of those Noslers and go shoot a bit.......... :D

Sorry guys. I just got back from Colorado, and battling a bad cold. The cold swoll up my head and sealed in the Hi-altitude lite air, and wouldn't pop when I came back down to sea level. I couldn't hear a thing. I blew my nose and my ears whistled, and poped so loud I thought my head was caving in.
It got down to 34 degrees and snow was still at 10,000 ft.
I took off work today, so I will work on the shooting contest now.
Actually 2rangers made the suguestion about a different class after he joined the MOA Club.
The only problem I see is where do we draw the line? A stabalizer, tunner, shrowd, barrel tensioner, and would hanging a couple of clamps or a rubber hose, or a magnet on the barrel change things enough to be in this class? We have had some match barrel members for some time, but Haven't seen them shoot much. So it is difficult to determine who has an advantage and who doesn't. Any ideas?
