The snow is all gone and it is time to shoot. Went to the range to try my luck at the Mini Scope Class contest. Got out pretty early this morning, temps around 45 deg. very little wind and getting warmer.
Shooting 125gr Sierra .308 Pro Hunter behind 29.5gr of AA 2230. Biathlon Stabilizer set 1/2 inch in front of gas block. Scope was a 3-9 BSA cheapo. Scope took ash** at the end of the day. Time for a real scope.
Took awhile to get settled down and get dialed in. 4 months is a long time to go without some shootin. After about 50 round of warm-up this is what I came up with.

steve outstanding shooting from your Mini-30. I'm glad someone with a 30 set the bar so high this early.

The target on the right looks like a perfect 50, and sub MOA is this correct?

I'll let you be the judge on the score. It looks to me as though the bullet on the right may have entered the black 10 ring, but it is really hard to tell. Whatever you decide 49 or 50 is fine with me. As for the MOA, I came up with .891. 1.199 minus the dia. of the bullet .308 is .891.

Great shooting!!!! Steve4102 you 'da man!!! If that one's not a fifty it aught to be. I guess now I've got to get my Biathlon dialed in so maybe I can slide into second place. Be doing good if I get one more range trip in before we start breaking camp and head back to the lake. Now all ya gota do is put five of those on the MOA target and be the first one on that honored list!!!

That ia what I was trying to do when my scope crapped out. I didn't get very far on the MOA target. I must say becomeing a member of the MOA Club is very very tough indeed. I don't know if my shooting ability or my Mini are up to the task. But, it will be a gas trying.

It looks like if you stuck a bullet into the hole, it would touch the bull. So from this angle it looks like a perfect 50. Way to go steve. That is an awesome group. ;)

Hey Steve4102 on the subject of scopes I ran across something this morning that sat me back and definatly got my attention. I guess everyone knows what a Leatherwood scope is, but I certainly did not know what has been going on with them and Jim Leatherwood. You can be the proud owner of a Leatherwood scope now for a song, almost. Of course if you have a problem buying stuff made in the Peoples Republic of China don't even read any more. But if you don't just know that Mr.Leatherwood has discovered a way to get the quality control he needs from them to lower his prices and keep the outstanding quality of his scopes and glass intact. I saw several very nice scopes in the 16x pluss range that didn't go over the $300.oo mark. Made me take notice and think very hard, take a look.... www.leatherwoodoptics.com (http://www.leatherwoodoptics.com/index.html), Don't remember who posted the link to this but THANKS.
