My first ever try at the contest. I have my Mini zero'd for hunting and didn't want to change the scope so I fired a couple of sighters at a separate target and then used some hold-off with the crosshairs trying to drop them into the bull. Target on right fired first, a 46 (one hole at 10 o'clock is just touching the 10 ring). Shot left target next and got a 47.

Day was cloudy and 52 degrees. Tail wind of about 5-10 mph, so wind no factor. Handloads using LC brass which has been reloaded many times and given no special care. 55 grain Hornady with cannalure, 26 grains of WW748 and CCI primers.

Mini has a trigger job by Mike K. Hogue stock bedded by Gundoc. Doc also shortened the barrel and installed a Smith brake, total length 16 1/4". Recoil buffers installed. Scope is a Scheels 3.5-10X.

Someday I'll take the time to zero on target center and try again.

Thanks guys.

The four shots at the top in the right-hand target were just a hair over 3/4". The stray one really opened up the group. It was the fourth shot. After the first three I thought I was going for a personal best with the Mini but number four brought me back to reality.

Thats why we use 5 shot groups. With 3 shots most everyone would shoot MOA.

I had the Mini out today and since it was calm I thought I'd give the target contest another try. I have a stake on the side of my drive way that is 100 measured yards from my target berm. I sat on a waste basket with the rifle resting on a sandbag on a portable picnic table so I didn't have the most ideal set up. Also didn't zero on the target center first, just shot a couple of marker rounds and then used some hold off to compensate for the zero. I got another 47 so didn't better my score, but wanted to share a pic of the group.

Measured .756 inches. The hole on the right is two shots. The Mini has been consistently shooting like this. It seems to have settled into the bedding job that Gundoc did in February and the shortened barrel and/or muzzle brake have really made it a shooter.
