I looked at you website and did not see where you guys will re-blue a bbl. I have a GB that needs a little TLC. Its in great shape but has a little bbl wear form the owner before me. I asked before about having you guys coat it. My son said he likes the blueing better. So I would like to know if you guys do blueing. I just need my bbl done. If so, how much might it run me. Thanx, CM

I am sorry to say that bluing is not offered here. One day it might, but for a lot of reasons it isn't right now. I can send it off and have it done, but we don't do it in house. Bluing a mini is something I recommend be sent to a bluer. If you try cold blue or Blue Wonder it doesn't work in our tests because of the alloyed reciever. Ruger uses Dulite brand bluing for the Mini series and I highly recommend that the same be used to reblue it. Someone set up with Oxyante salts may have a good system to blue a mini, but if Ruger uses Dulite thats what I would ask for. We do apply plenty of spray finishes in the DuraCoat and GunKote lines, but they are not the same as hot bluing.

Since you are wanting only the barrel blued, I would grab the phone book and the new issue of GunList and find a bluing setup near you. In our experience a barrel will likely run about $50 to be blued. Again, by choosing the Dulite setup it will better match the receiver. Of course the barrel could be done with Blue Wonder to an acceptable level, and they have a new Black product that we have not tried yet that may match perfectly. A kit runs about $20 at the local sporting goods store for the small one.

If you can't find a suitable service, we will get it blued for you, but it will be more expensive since there will be shipping costs incurred to us and them and back again. We will do our best to keep it affordable and get a good job done for you, but it won't be covered by us. Let me know if I can be of any more help and thanks!
