I have 4 I am willing to part with; 3 still in package, one tested for function only. Email or PM me with your best offer.

My experience with PMI mags has been mixed. I recently bought three 30s and three 40's. One forty and one thirty wouldn't feed. I think the reason is that the feed lips are bent over and down too far and do not allow the rounds to sit up high enough to be stripped. I have not yet tried to fiddle with these two. The other four PMIs have worked fine. All were new in their original plastic bags. I can't recall where I bought them. I use GunBroker.com, AuctionArms, and GunsAmerica. I also do general Web searches using Google. After I bought my Mini 14 I went on an orgy of mag buying.

I think the best place to get PMIs is usually the for sale section of gun boards. They seem to pop up quite a bit here. My PMIs have always been good mags. Seems some people have some problems with the 40 rounders but I have no first hand experience.

Does PMI make mags for the Mini 30? I can't seem to find any, so I'm thinking they don't, but I want to make sure. If they do, please let me know how to buy some.
Thanks in advance.

PMI hasn't made any mags for over 12 years as they went out of business. There are still some in the factory bag. I bought some from CDNN. They are good mags.
I believe the Promag -20's which are new manufacture will be as good, and about 1/2 the cost of PMI.
I don't believe PMI ever made mags for the Mini-30.
BTW I'm moving this thread to the Magazine section for a better fit.

Are they blued or SS?
All blued.
Bidding on a few 40 rounders right now at auction arms!! Around $30 right now, should be a good deal.

Just be careful; the 40s typically do not have the same quality as the 30s.
I have a 40rd PMI and it shoots flawlessly, however, it is made out of thinner material or maybe its just the feed lips that are thinner, but they deffinatly are compaired to PMI 30s and ruger factorys.
Another thing, i have a PMI that bends shell casings and doesnt let them feed. What do you guys think? Feed lips bent too far down like suggested up top? I didnt want to have to bend on my PMI but hell if it dont work gotta fix it.

If it doesn't work, you have three options: fix it, junk it, or make it an "organ donor."
You might try comparing it to another mag of the same capacity that does work to see what's different--be very thorough; take nothing for granted; question every feature--and then try to fix it. If that doesn't work, you could see if the parts are usable in other mags. If they're not, you might as well junk it, as it's of no use to you and probably of no use to anyone else. Hanging on to something like that doesn't make sense to me.

thanks for the replies but if you read my post i already said i wanted to fix it.
I just wasnt sure if anyone else had the problem and what it was, or if i would venture off and bend my virgin lips......um....that came out funny.

Chuck,
My response was not aimed at you. I was agreeing with WhyteP38's quote and thinking out loud about myself. I've been guilty of hanging on to stuff that doesn't work thinking that one day I'll figure out the ultimate fix. What I needed to do in most cases was just make them organ donors.
You sound like you have the determination to fix your mag. Let us know when you do, and how you did it. We all come here to share and learn.
