Would it be possible or practical to have trader rating on Perferct Union? Another site I frequent www.uzitalk.com has a simple system that we could use a model if there's enough interest on the site.

BTW: I think alot of goods and money change hands on this site and i'm not aware of a single person being ripped off. That says volums about the people that frequent this site.

I moved this so Bill will see it. It's more of a question for him. I think it's a good idea. I've sold a few things to members of this site and all of the transactions have been good. No one knows if they're dealing with a reputable person or a scam artist.

I agree. The members here seem to be on the up and up but it would give me more confidence if I could view thier "trader" history. I think the 1st thing I ever purchased from this site was a old beat up factory 30 round Mini 14 mags from you. It's still the ugliest mag I have but it works like a champ :D

Wow, I should have seen an email when there as a post here.

Anyhow, sounds like a good idea, but I can't spend any time writing the software from scratch. If someone knows of some software that uses PHP and MySQL to do this, I'd be happy to adapt it to our site.

Bill, they have a easy to use trader rating here and the site owner is a good guy so I'm sure he'll be helpfull if assistance is needed.

I went to uzitalk.com, and I don't see one link (and I had to read through about 100 of them) to any "trader rating".

Point me directly to an example of it. I can't spend my hours doing the research necessary when you seem to know right where it is. Please, just spoon feed me!

Bill, check out my profile on Uzi Talk. You'll find my trader on the left side on the page. You'll also notice a number "8" beside my name. Click on it and you can see the details of my trades. You'll also notice a number from "0-?" beside all of the member's names in each thread. That number tells you haw many reviews each member has. Let me know if you still need addl info.

Call me stupid, but I looked at the front page ( http://www.uzitalk.com/ ) five times looking for anything linking to a forums.

It was only a minute ago that I saw that the link was built into their graphical top logo.

I don't have an account there, so I can't see the rating system. But it appears to be a VBulletin add-on feature. I can look for one for Invisionboard, but I won't be able to hack in a VBulletin feature into this board.

Any more ideas about this? I would really like to see some form of feedback rating system on this board. Could each member have a feedback page where others could post feedback for them?

The issue is that there isn't an addon for this board.

If people want to start donating to the board, I can upgrade to commercial software that supports this add-on request and other features.

One way to do donations is to offer a higher level of service to paying members. At Pirate4x4.com, they offer avatars and image uploads to paying members, and non-paying members don't get those options.

So, here is the question for you and others (I may make a poll in the General Chit Chat section)

Would you be willing to pay a small fee per year to get special privileges if that also meant we would upgrade to a better BBS system with more features?

I would consider a small fee for full status, maybe $5-$10 a year, and I'd probably attach some special feature to it, like free email service with a perfectunion.com email address (that would be a custom add-on, but would be worth it!)

What do you think? In the absence of paying members, I cannot justify paying $150-200 a year for software to run the board.
