I have got a HK USP 40 ss Full size
One of the best guns i have ever bought.
A little spendy but well worth it. Actually i got mine for cost plus
20 bucks. A great deal.
any other HK owners out there, i would like to know
how you like your HK. I really want a Mark 23. but still
out of my price range.

I have a USP .40 Compact. Got it from an Oakland police officer for just shy of four bills. Its a hoot to shoot, and reliable too. I don't quite like how it handles, but thats a function of the .40 S&W cartredge and the short barrel. I can't shoot it as accurately as I'd like, and it takes a little too long to get in follow-up shots for my taste. Not a bad piece though--easy to field strip and quite ergonomic. Probably the only problem with it is that it is the wrong gun for what I do.

I like them a lot, but I won't pay the price they ask for them.

I have not shot a compact, only held one. Was a little small I thought. Full-size is great.

Yeah, under $400 is not bad. Is it true they are not going to be producing the ones with the stainless slide anymore?

From my understanding this is true. There will be no more made. I belive last year was the last year. There are a few out there still. ( Full size). I believe they are still makeing the compact in SS.
Which is cool this makes my Full size ss worth more. (i hope)

Yeah, I just pulled up a catalaog from CDNN. Standard size is $600. I'd love to have one, but I just can't do it.

Yeah 400 is a good price, expecially with all the factory goodies AND being in 99-100% condition. Its' a good little gun, although I don't shoot it much. I don't have a brick of 40 S&W at home.

even though i dont care for the compact much. (due to the fact i have big hands) Id still pay 400 bones for one !!!
I've also got a USP compact 40. I like the size and the ergonomics work well for a lefty. It's well made and very reliable. I've just not been able to shoot it as well as my other semis. I was expecting the USP to be super-easy to shoot like my HK P9S, but not so (and the P9S decocking lever isn't easy to accommodate left-handed!). My compact trigger's is fairly heavy and has some creep, not at all like my P9S trigger which is light and smooth. Luck of the draw, I guess.....my kid has an compact (consecutive s/n's) and his trigger has hardly any creep at all.
I still like it though, just a little disappointed I can't shoot it better.

wierd ?
I have no problems at all with the trigger. In
fact i have had Zero problems with my 40.
Yes I like H & K pistols but I currently do not have any. On New Years Day my sons full size 40 bent the ejector and separated a case head. On Valetine's Day, my full size 9
developed a crack in the slide near the ejector port. Both were taken to a smith the same day they developed problems and still no guns. The ejector has been ordered and the 9 was sent back to the factory (in Feb.) and I wait. I have been told that HK is very slow. :(

I had a full size USP-40 at first I liked it alot but the checkering on the grip seemed awfly rough and my middle finger kept rubbing on the trigger guard when I shot it and would leave a mark after a box or two of ammo. It would actually hurt after shooting. It became a safe queen.
A year or so later I wanted to simplify my ammo supply and reduce the types of hand gun ammo I needed so I got rid of 40S&W in favor of 45ACP and traded the HK for a Para-Ordanace 14-45LDA. I am much happier with the Para.
I have to say after about 1000 rounds the USP never let me down it was and is a good pistol just not for me. I paid $540 over 5 years ago.
