2004 Vacation

Every year me, my brother, and my dad go hunting in Nebraska. This is from last years trip on the first day of 6 hunting days we spent in Shickley. This year we got 10 pheasants, 5 ducks and 2 quail, which really wasn't too back because it has been very dry the last couple years, and we only lost 1 pheasant that our dog "Sable" could not find.

Bird hunting with a dog can be a lot of fun... IF the dog is well-trained. I've got bad memories of "Luke" chewing my doves to a pulp before I could get to him! :o

Although it looks as if Sable knows what he's doing! He's a handsome lab!

its a she, but yeah she really got onto them this year, never bites too hard or anything, not even when we found a wounded one in the ditch the chased and caught, and thats when i realized exactly how fast one can run. Sable is pretty hefty though and before next year we need to train her to lose some weight :(
