What should I buy?

After doing all the research and exhausting all the threads on the .17 HMR, to include my budget, I decided to buy the Marlin 917V. Am I making a mistake? :(

Marlins seem to be regarded as fine firearms, so I don't see where you could go wrong. I really want to get a 17 someday too. I say go for it! B)

TPW - no mistake there. That should be a fine shooting weapon. I have the 17VS - probably the most accurate weapons I have. You can cover your shoots (5) with a dime at 100 yards - if you do your part. I am just a paper shoot and the only complaint I have is - the cost of the ammo. It is coming down - and if it gets at least to the price of the 22 mag. - it will be OK. Right now I can shoot my 223 for the same price as the 17Hummer. You will love the gun - add a good scope and you will have a winner.... :D
