Baptism of Saints into Christ near Golden Colorado (I'm in camo as usual )

The man reading from the Word of God, the bald one, (we used to tease him about it all the time) is my late friend Pastor Earl Jones. If you watched, "Saveing Private Ryan", he was there in real life in WWII unloading onto that beach. He was a Man among Men. A True Hero. A Real Patriot, and my Freind. He died eight days after the September 11th attacks on our nation, from a broken heart. :( That day, as was said about George Washington, by John Adams, "....a Great Man hath fallen among Israel." :( He even knew how to die well. He layed down in the floor, and called to his wife, and said, "I love you Mary, Im leaving now." [Swordslinger is teared up, with his hair standing up on his arms and the back of his neck. ]

Thanks for sharing, Sword.
Gave me a chill (the good kind) reading your post and seeing the photos.
Simply knowing a man like Pastor Jones makes you want to emulate his courage and honor. I kind of think knowing you might have the same effect.

Good pictures and story behind them Sword, I read a book "A Table in the Presence" about the marines in the 1-5 going into Iraq and fighting their way to the presidental palace in April of 2003. God protected them also with some great stories, a must read for anyone in the military or church. I would love to talk to them when they get back from Iraq.

Thanks, but Im not worthy to carry out Earl's trash. When he died, that night, September 13th, 2001, I could tell that he had been praying for me for over a year. I knew the minute he was no longer here, going to the Lord on his knees for my benefit. I was merely his humble servant at every opportunity he gave me.

Actually now that I think about it, the reason I was the one doing the baptizing, is we didnt want Earl in that cold water. It had just snowed a few days before. The picture on the bottom was me standing in for Earl as well. He had a double bypass a few years before that, and we were trying to make sure we kept him with us as long as possible. How selfish of us. The man in the blue shirt was much closer to him than I.

To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. The Lord did great works through Earl. And when He was finished with him, He called him home. REJOICE!!!

That was September 19th in the above post. If I had an edit button, I would have fixed it. <_<
