A survey asked mothers to keep track of how many times they made both negative and posetivecomments to their children. The surveyed mothers admitted that they criticized at least ten times for every one time they said something favorable. Another survey taken in one city’s schools found that the teachers were negative seventy five per cent of the time. This study concluded that it takes four positive statements to a child from a parent or teacher to offset the effects of one negative statement. Wow, when I think about how many times I've said negative things to people in my lifetime, I have some posetive paying back to do!

Many times we justify our criticizing, hurtful words and actions by thinking we're right in a matter. But, in fact, the only one who's all right is the Lord! And He has called us to be the encouragers of the world! We have the gift of God residing within us, and we are ambassors of the His love. We need to constantly remind ourselves to operate under that love in every circumstance - even the most difficult!

I copied this from Worthy news (http://www.worthyministries.com/) page that also gives divotional with the latest news around the world. I will try to be a more positive influence to my kids and other people. This really got me to thinking about how other people may see me.

share our love because we all know its easier to hate, tri :usa:

Ive found that what you say to yourself is proof of what Tri posted and the above scripture. For instant, "I'm sick". Ive know peole that make their self very ill by always saying things like "Im sick, or I feel bad....."

" I was all bent out of shape....." Could cause arthritis.

" That just burns me up......" Could cause ulcers.

" That just eats me up alive...." Could cause cancer.

" That ****es me off......" Could cause prostate problems.

" That really burns my as$......" Could cause hemoriods.
......and so on.

From what I can tell, the brain only knows what the mouth tells it. ;)

Remember the Sunday school song? "Carefull little lips what you say....."
