View Full Version : yugo sks night sights
the night sights on the yugo 59/66 from what i understand and have read up on has 2 types tritium or phosphor radium in fact on one of the web sights they show the picturesof what the tritium sights compare to the phosphor about half the 59/66 has tritium and roughly half has phosphor a few are mixed tritium front sights and phosphor rear or just reversed the phosphor radium does this cause a health hazard similar to the old watches painted back in the 20's with radium laced paint i am not an expert but can someone give me information on this matter to see if the phosphor has radium in it any information will be helpful
Its just a guess, but I don't think the US would let the rifles be imported I they were unsafe. Also both the Phosphor and Tritiums hardly work anymore (if at all) after 20 plus years so if their was danger I'm sure it's gone by now.

Further more if your afraid you can always remove the night sights easily. Besides if your afraid of heath hazards I'm sure you always shoot 100% jacketed of solid copper ammo right? You don't want to breath in any lead particals from the smoke. :P
