I had this thread previously that some of you may have seen about my S&W model 915 : http://www.nmia.com/~lelia/movies/dutch.html

Well, I've been shooting the cheap 9mm winchester white box from wal-mart and was thinking it was my gun as it was giving me pretty big groups. Even using sandbags and resting the gun and taking my time I was getting 4" to 5" groups around the paper.

I bought some hydrashock for a defensive round and I also bought some to fire to make sure it cycles well in my handgun... I have to say, I would have had a nice 1.5" five shot group offhand at around 7 yards if I didn't pull the last shot bad. 3 of the shots are all touching. I had another similar group but also pulled a shot... I knew they were both my fault.

I'd love to find some ammo that groups better than the winchest but doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Both of my ruger's love that target ammo from walmart(100rds to a box about $12). It shoots so much better than anything else I've tried I will go way out of the way to get it.

I also have one handgun that doesn't group at all with the whitebox winchester. Others I have don't seem to care too much and do just fine with it. The Smith that doesn't like it, prefers the CCI Blazer Brass much better with grouping less than half the size of the winchester 115gr.
