View Full Version : Remington 700 30.06
Here is my latest favorite. The trigger is about 2 1/2 pounds.
I just... hate you! Hehe, just kidding with ya. That is one heckuva sexy rifle. What kind of scope is that?
It is a Leupold VXII 3x9 40. I have another one in silver on a stainless mini.
I'll have to take a group picture for the mini board.
I hope to take her out tomorrow to see how she shoots. The barrel is stainless coated with black Teflon.

Man, that's a mean lookin' rifle. Like the barrel fluting! B) What range do you plan on going to tomorrow?
Pala has a three gun match tomorrow, but I just shoot the parallel pistol match.
When that is finished I want to see how this groups and zero the scope.
I finally got to a range to shoot for group. The first has a cold barrel shot away from the other two.

Nice shootin' Cab!
I love bolt rifles!
Cab,
Very nice gun. I've been looking for a hunting rifle and I thought I'd like a traditional wood stock but after seeing yours, I'm beginning to wonder if synthetic wouldn't be fine...
Which model HS precision rifle is that? I see from their website they have 5 different models of hunting rifle. I like the choice of caliber too.

cabdmd,
 i am impressed, i like the "all black" look and when i saw the barrel pic; it was too cool, love those "flutes".
flutes on a bull barrel are like louvers on the hood of a hot rod. gotta' luv em  :usa:
I bought this used, so I don't think it conforms to the choices shown on their web site. The barrel would seem to measure about 23 inches (about 24 inches from the breech). I was hoping that it would live up to the 1/2 inch billing, and it does.
The scope is a Leupold VX II 3x9. I imagine a bigger scope would yield a little better group.

cabdmd, That is NICE!!! I plan to do a bolt gun similar to yours. Im am pulled between the 700, ( I have one already named "Venicide" that I deer hunt with) and the Savage with the Acu-trigger. But right now I have no money, so it dosnt matter one way or the other.
