Here's a quick shot of my .223 ADL synthetic. I've adjusted to AWFUL factory trigger pull to a more reasonable 1.5lbs for a bench rifle, floated the barrel, and polished the lands in the barrel with Bonami. Went from shooting 10" groups at 100 yds. with 55gr. NATO to shooting one small tattered hole per three shot group. Yes, I know NATO isn't match grade or anything, but the main reason I got the .223 was for cheaper shooting. I'm working up some handloads using Hornady 40gr. for more serious work. That's a Harris bipod, which I have come to love, and a Tasco 6-24x40 varmit scope.
Bare naked rifle with horrible trigger = $359.00 on Holiday sale at local sporting goods store
Tasco Scope = $90.00
Harris bipod = $60.00
.223 Lee dies = $20.00
some homely TLC = time is expensive
Not too bad for a $529.00 rig?

I guess your rifle originally had either A.) one hellova rough bore, b.) one hellova rough trigger, c.) a great dislike for 55gr. NATO loadings, or d.) all of the above. When you turn a poor shooter into a tackdriver yourself, that is satisfaction! When you do that, you truly own your rifle. She's a beaut, and apparently shoots as well as she looks! I love that black on black-- ultramatte.

Hehe, I was so disappointed with it's initial performance that I just sat down and went to work on it. I don't know which of the three changes had the most impact on performance. Probably in this order, trigger adjustment, free floating the barrel, and finally barrel polishing.

That is an amazing improvement. I would be happy with that too.

Fine lookin' ADL. Nothing to reflect the light when in the woods or just on the bench.
