I saw a guy at the range a few months ago shooting an M1. It was pretty awesome, gettin' to shoot my mini right next to it's grandfather-in-design. B)

Anyway, the guy with the M1 told me he bought it through the CMP. After filling out the required forms (not sure what all the requirements were...he said they didn't require a whole lot) he sent them in, waited a few months, and then had an M1 sitting on his doorstep.

Has anyone gone through this process before? Anyone ordered an m1903? I'd love to have one of those rifles.... such an awesome piece of history! :usa:

Talking about M1's in bolt talk?
Looks like the boards are being readjusted.

Required (http://www.odcmp.com/Services/Rifles/eligibility_requirements.htm)

I've been putting off joining the CMP for atleast a year. I'll hopfully be ordering M1903A3, and a springfield collectors grade M1 very soon. I'm already joining my one required club (Garand Collectors Assoc.). Now alls I need to do is provide proof of marksmanship or other firearms related activity. This requirment doesn't make much since, because is you have a FFL/C&R lisence you qualify. So since I've applied for my C&R I think I'll just wait.

You can also ask around the CMP forums (http://www.odcmp.org/forum/) if you have more questions.

Sorry Greer, I should have clarified. My conversation with the owner of the M1 was what prompted my interest in the program. I'm chiefly looking for information on their m1903 rifles.

Yeah, I figured etheir you didn't notice the readjustment of the forums or you cared more about the 1903 aspect of CMP. Looks like it was more my mistake then yours.
