Till spring or interests picks up. We will have an open challenge. You pick the challenge, and target used. All interested parties can take up the challenge.
You can also use this board to post best groups, unusual targets etc. (Please keep targets decent). Also post ideas for 2005 shooting contests. Someone mentioned Shooting to be a member of the MOA club? I'd like to try that one. ;)
Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

MOA club sounds great, 3 or 5 shot groups?

5 shots. 5 give a more accurate pic. It is too easy to get a lucky 3. I only use 3 for sighting in my scope.
How about this target that has 5 circles and 1 shot/circle.5 ring target (http://mytargets.com/Target31.pdf)

I like it. Now this isn't the official rules yet, but I'm thinking 4 of the 5 targets with 5 shots would have to be inside the black bull. The other would be the sight in target that doesn't count.
Man those bulls look small. I been bragging on my Mini and hand loads I guess it's put up or shut up. I guess this will also show which strut works best. I will have the rules up in next couple of weeks.
If anyone gets a chance to go for it do it. It may take a while with all thats going around our house and work, but I'm gonna do it.

That is one hell of a challenge, I'll give it a go but, like you said them thar bulls is offal small. I do have one comment on your proposed challenge; What you have proposed is more of an accuracy test (in the bull) as opposed to a MOA test. A rifle can achive MOA or better without being in the center of the target. A five shot group of less than 1 inch at 100 yards yet off the bull is still MOA or better. I think you should set up both kinds of competitions, MOA and also see if any of us can hit them little bastards 4 our of 5 times.
This target works well with hunting style cross hairs.

Yep your right. I "may" be able to get my mini to group 4 out of 5 at or near 1 MOA, but I don't think they will all be in the black. For this I think it would be fair to count group size and worry so much about if they are in the black. The main point is the groups be on one page. This will show if we are consistantly grouping or just counting lucky groups over a period of time.
I appreciate the comments as this will help iron out the rules before we start.
BTW I just have a 3x9 hunting scope and I don't have a bull target barrel.
here is another one you could try 10 bottles (http://gunloads.com/images/targets/fun/10Bottles.pdf) it would require 10 shots.

Hi Everyone,
Was just killing time waiting for Daytona 500 to start and started wondering about the 2005 Shooting Challenge. Do we have the rules laid out yet?
Getting sort of anxious. Can hear my neighbor blasting away again today. (What a job, he gets to test fire new AR-15's at his house. I think it is for LEO's. Have to stop and ask him what he does with all the brass. He's been blasting away for over 4 hours now using 10 round clips as fast as he can change them. Usually does this at least two days a week.)

We haven't had much time for anything with mandatory 60 hr weeks at work. We have some general ideas lined up though. Did you try the CCI shooting game yet? The link is below on CCI shooting game thread.
BTW I'm watching Daytona, doing laundry, and eating, while I'm moderating. I'm rooting for KC Kane in his new Dodge Charger. They are at a disadvantage as the Aero is new, and Ford and Chev is the same as last year and dialed in.
should of kept my 50 yrd target for reddot class, STUPID ME, i still wanna enter the contest, but not many people do it anymore it seems
