Does anyone know where I could get the procedure to tear-down my PT145 slide? Obviously I can remove it from the frame, but I would like to be able to completely disassemble the slide and all it's parts...Taurus will not even respond to my request! TKS, John
I have a Millenium pt145 it is fairly easy to tear down the slide.
1-drop mag
2-make sure it is empty ( common sense but still must be said)
3-move slide back and lock slide in place
4-rotate lever down 6:00 ( lever closest to the muzzle)
5-pull lever out of slide/frame
6-gipping tightly, let slide move forward easy
7-pull trigger, this will let slide move off of frame
8-watch out for the spring and rod assembly, it can fly off easily
the slide comes apart quite easily when it is off the frame. Pull the rod&spring off, barrel will come right out. When putting it back together, make sure the barrel is forward before putting the lever back, the lever goes in at 3:00 and just snaps in. have fun! :)

I MIGHT be wrong, but I don't think that's what Johnnu meant. I think, based on his question he want to do things like take out the firing pin and the extractor.
That is most likely one of the magic parts only the shop can do.
Big Al is correct, I can do the field stripping with no prob. ; did want to disassemble the slide itself. Glock slides come apart in seconds (with no tools)....clean firing pin, extractor etc etc. In super cold weather, it's a good thing to be sure the firing pin falls when one pulls the trigger; extra oil and dirt will keep this from happening in below zero temps. THANKS ALL.....John
