View Full Version : Taurus
Okay i'm new, but have a question so here goes
I recently bought a Taurus pt 145, as a carry gun, because i couldn't afford a Kimber ultra carry. After 170 rnds and no problems I feel it is reliable enough for me to stick in my belt and trust with my life. Taurus seems to have come along way in the last several years and I like the feel and safety of the Taurus more than a Glock.
Does anyone have more experience with this pistol than I, or opinions on Taurus as a company. :2guns:

I had a P92?, The one that looked like the M9 Berreta, and loved it. Had no problems at all. My wife packs a Tarrus M85??? in 38 Special. Tarrus is not the company it used to be. They are putting out some quality stuff now IMO.
I might have to look into that .45. Im a 1911 fan, but I would like to have another, maybe a hi-cap .45.
The PT 145 is not hi capacity but it does hold ten rounds wich is
hard to believe in such a small and thin gripped compact pistol
I've had a PT145 for a couple of years now and have found it to be reliable. I also like the fact that it has a safety lever on it. I run lots of handloads thru it and have had no problems with them either. I also have a GLOCK 36 slimline, but find that the Taurus grip is much more comfortable and pointable even tho the Glock only holds six and the Taurus holds 10. However, for some reason, I hit more accurately with the Glock. I have found two problems which would keep me from buying another Taurus EVER; one is that their SERVICE DEPT is totally unresponsive and somewhat unknowledgable; the other problem is that their parts are EXTREMELY expensive compared to Glock.....paid $26 for spare mag realease BUTTON; $37 for extra mags.....buy Glock mags for $18 max. I have also not been able to get Taurus to send me a tear-down proceedure so I can take the slide apart and clean the internal parts. The GLOCK comes apart with little more than a small screw driver and every part inside the slide is accessible for cleaning.
