If my info is correct that last picture should confirm its an A4 since the Serial# is on the side of the mount.

These belong to my father-in-law. They have been down in his basement for 50+ years. As a Christmas present I cleaned them up and got him the case in the pictures. He carried a Springfield in WW2 and is very attached to them.

Wow.
I agree, the '03A4 is legit, due to the position of the serial number. It's also got the "scant" (semi-pistol grip) stock (one of my books illustrates a 1903A4 with the same stock). I presume there is no provision for iron sights on the barrel.
BTW, that '03A3 looks pretty nice, too.
Sure is pretty!!! I always did like those.

Not to worry the Scope mount is an S&K and the Bipod is just propping the rifle up for the Photo Op.

In case anyone is interested, Gibbs Rifle company http://www.gibbsrifle.com/index.html is selling replicas of the 1903A4.
There is a back order and they are using three distributers. AIM is also the sub dealer on the internet. http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/New_Rifles_.html All are listed for $999.95 US I ordered one the other day from a FFL gun shop. Looking forward to getting it eventually. It is not on the C&R list.
