Bought an early christmas present this past weekend at a gunshow. I was hoping you guys could give me some info on it. It is a Norinco SKS in exc condition. Spike bayonet attatched by a screw, not pinned. Number on stock and bolt match #03346. On left side of reciever is stamped CAI ST ALB VT 9003346 it is quite uneven. Below that is NORINCO CHINA and that is pretty even. Next to it is 7.62x39, very uneven. It has a pinned barrel. Late model bolt carrier with no milling. If you go to this websight http://www.simonov.net/howieobserv.htm my rear sight looks like the one on the bottom right. The take done lever on the reciever is the high kind without the recess in the stock. I don't see any numbers on the magazine. I would like some info on what I bought, anything would be appreciated. thanks

Well the only info I have for you is what CAI stands for. Century Arms (http://www.centuryarms.com/Century/home.htm) is was the American distributor of your rifle, and they are now located in Flordia instead of Vermont. I've heard a few storys about CAI's poor quality control, and failure to restore guns to original military specs, but have yet to notice any problems with my Yugo 59/66 SKS or Mosin 91/30 which were both restored/distrbuted by CAI .

My Russian SKS was also imported by CAI, and it works beautifully.
