I thought I saw a safety eliminator kit for the newer 1895s a while back, but now I can't find any such thing. Has anyone seen these anywhere? the crossbolt safety is really annoying, I accidently hit it all the time. I like the half-cock safety, and I have confidence in it because I am used to revolvers with this setup.

I agree the crossbolt safety stinks. If I ever get a new Marlin lever action, I'll deep-six the crossbolt and replace it with a static part that looks like a screw.
A web search using the keywords "marlin crossbolt safety" turned up this site,Replacing the Marlin Crossbolt Safety (http://leverguns.com/articles/taylor/crossbolt_safety.htm), for instructions on changing the safety to one available from:

Clyde Ludwig
PO Box 26156
Wauwatosa, WI 53226-0156

Phone# 414-536-1101

His replacement part costs $9.95. Shipping for one or more parts is $3.00

As the article states, disabling a safety device will void your warranty, so consider yourself warned. The possibility of litigation probably contributes to the lack of advertising. If I ever swap out the factory button, I'll keep it in storage and replace it before selling, swapping or giving it away.

Shoot!

Amending the Marlin Safety. (http://www.beartoothbullets.com/tech_notes/archive_tech_notes.htm/52) This is an excellent website that details a number of methods of taking care of that stupid safety.
