Powder Burn

I have been using a Harris #14 adapter with my bipod, which is functional but also kind of a pain. It works loose after every five rounds and needs to be tightened. It digs into your back when the sling is attached to it, and it makes it difficult to strip the rifle while it is attached.
After several months of dealing with this I decided to eliminate it by mounting a QD stud to the fore end, which was quite easy to do.
I used an Uncle Mikes stud with 10/32 threads and a small piece of scrap metal to fasten it to the wood. After locating the ideal spot to put it I drilled the stock, and drilled and tapped small metal plate. Next I chiseled a recess in the stock to allow it to sit flush with the bottom, ground off the excess stud and added a bit of Loc-Tite red and staked the threads. No more shaky bipod mount. Make sure it doesn’t interfere with Forearm Liner.
