I came across this pistol and decided to add it to my collection, for an odd reason, I personally feel it has some growth in worth and a quite a bit of charm. My understanding is this piece was once of Bear's early pieces when he used Caspian slide and frame. Comparing it to my trick out Kimber; it holds it's own and gives and "old school" type personality; I think Baer might have personally work on this himself. Any thoughts are appreciated:

My guess is that your pistol's value will be approximately the same as a newer version with similar features, in the same condition. Guessing that Les Baer worked on it personally adds nothing to value. If you had a letter from Baer stating he personally fitted this pistol, you might be able to bump the value up a bit. However I'm not aware of anybody who collects Les Baer 1911's, so the value of one of his guns is mainly based on shooting rather than collecting.
Your pistol looks like a honey. If I were you, I'd shoot it and forget any investment-type considerations.

I will second what surbat6 said. Without a letter of provenance by Mr Baer I would expect no premiums, otherwise it should be comparable to the present models in value.
