View Full Version : CZs.... I love mine.. anybody else agree?
I have the CZ 75 P-01 and have never had a single misfire, FTE, or problem with the exception of ONE round of CCI blazer with the aluminum case. I also have the RAMI and love how it handles in such a nice little package with the same reliability that I have come to expect. I recently took my CCW qualification with both.. no problems at all. Ergonomics are great without having to add any extra grips, the trigger on the P-01 isn't my favorite, but the RAMI has a nice smooth DA and SA trigger in my opionion.
Anybody else agree that these fine guns from the Czech Republic are highly underated, and are worth every cent of their not so significant cost?
CZ is a quality gun at a reasonable price. Period!

Yep I agree, 47 military's, and 1000's of Police Depts can't be wrong, CZ is one great firearms maker..
:usa:
I must agree, too. I own 8 CZs at the moment and waiting patiently on number 9 which will be the .40 caliber CZ 75 Compact. Due out in '05.

Yes you are right they are great handguns , combat proven reliable cheap,(because they were mad in Czech republic) but i must ask my self what would be the price of CZ-75-85 if it was made in Germany by Heckler i think that they would go for around 800 dollars, so sad that some companies are over rating
their handguns like Heckler i dont think that usp is worth of 3 CZ-85
just my oppinion

I have been looking for a good handgun to buy when I turn 21. I like the handling of a glock 17, but the CZ seems to be equal in quality and feel for alot less money. One question someone may be able to answer. I have heard that some autoloaders are picky when it comes to ammo type. I own a reloading press, but will be mainly be shooting surplus (cheap) ammo (for plinking) out of it except for self defence loads. In terms of being able to digest anything that comes it's way what is better, the Glock 17 or the CZ or are they about equal? Also, how easy is it to find parts. Any help would be apreciated.

The 9mm CZ 75B does have an issue with heavy 9mm rounds loaded long. CZ will open up the throat of the barrrel upon request, although I've never had this done with either of my 9mm CZs. I tend to load fast and light vs. slow and heavy now.
I encountered the issue several years ago with the Hornady 147gr XTPs. Resolved the issue using HS-6 that allowed me to seat the XTP bullet just a bit shorter.
Since I don't use 9mm 147 grain bullets any longer, it's not an issue.

I have a CZ 75BD. I think its one of the best made handguns I own. A great instintive shooter and I have yet to have a problem with it, and I've fed it just about everything. A little FYI, cheaperthandirt.com has 15 round mags for only 19 dollars. I just bought some from them and they function great.
Well crosshair, you will not have that problem with your CZ, just dont go beyond 125 grain ammo (for 9mm para of course) but since 147 gr ammo or anything beyond 125 gr in 9mm sucks. 147 gr ammo sucks dont use it, it will bad compared to the 9mm in 125 gr, and yes your choice is excellent Česka Zbrojevka is a great weapon. It is also very affordable.
I agree 100% Donny. H&Ks are over rated and over priced. Whouldn't you agree that if a gun is made with cheaper materials that the gun itself should be cheaper? Glocks and H&Ks shouldn't be over 300 dollars, but they both are.
